New Librarian Remote Work MOU

A new memorandum of understanding covering remote work for librarians was signed on June 23, 2026.

A memorandum of understanding — an MOU — is a negotiated agreement that sits alongside the main faculty contract and carries the same force. MOUs are how the FA and the District settle working conditions between full contract cycles, so it is worth knowing which ones apply to your assignment.

Every signed faculty MOU — this one included — is posted by the District:

Your New Contract: 2025–2028

The signed faculty agreement covering July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 is posted and available to every faculty member at Chabot and Las Positas.

This is the document that governs your salary, workload, evaluation, leaves, seniority and rehire rights, and the process for raising a concern when something goes wrong. It is worth knowing what is in it — most of the questions faculty bring to the FA are answered somewhere in these pages.

If the full document is more than you need right now, the Contract Guide summarizes it article by article in plain language, with direct links into the signed PDF. The signed contract and its MOUs are always the official source.
